IMO the closest Underoath to Static Dress is Define the Great Line but this doesn't get as atmospheric as that album, however this isn't as shiny/clean/poppy as a lot of They're Only Chasing Safety - it's somewhere in the middle. I'd maybe start with TOCS and then listen to DTGL since they only get heavier with the two following albums.

No prob dude. I'm glad you're enjoying this so much :]
And yeah what Light said 100%. If you love this I'm sure there's at least one *early* Underoath album that will catch your attention.

some of the harder songs here sound kinda like dtgl but its mostly a tocs throwback. its better than tocs but imo peak underoath, while checking off different boxes for me, is on another level. the run from dtgl through disambiguation is all essential

I'd shoot this album between the eyes if I had to choose between it and They're Only Chasing Safety.

I'm not as nostalgic about TOCS as most but A Boy Brushed Red is one of their best songs.

It was one of my gateway albums, along with Discovering the Waterfront and What It Is to Burn. Those 3 will always hold a special place in my heart but I still genuinely love them all and listen to them relatively frequently. A lot of it is nostalgia but I'm Content With Losing is hands down one of the best songs in the genre.

I learned how to scream by practicing along to Young and Aspiring and all of She Watched the Sky from A Skylit Drive. I've gotta keep my OGs on their pedestals.
