It's such a complete song

re: previous page. I never listen to singles beforehand, I couldn’t even tell you what the singles were initially - now I only (half) know because of this thread and the complaints relating to the subject.
The high points eclipse the rest of the album significantly, those being Triassic, Jurassic and Pleistocene. As much as I do enjoy this there’s definitely a sense of just waiting for the latter, once the former two tracks have ended. Everything in between is somewhat anti-climactic in comparison.

If I gave Pelagial a hard 3.5 is this worth my time? Trying to catch up on some of the more revered albums of 2020 that I missed, and I know a lot of friends that love this.

Are you saying that’s a bad thing? - either way this is very different and brings more than a few fresh elements to the table. It’s worth at least checking ‘Jurassic/Cretaceous’ to see what you think.

I'd spin Phan I first but ya this is also real good

As someone who also 3.5'd Pelegial, spin Phan 1 first [2] but this is also great

Hmm, alright.

No, not at all. Would you say this is more proggy?

more post-y than proggy, I would say
compared to Pelegial at least

That's great to hear. I'll jam this and one today or tomorrow. I am right on the brink of loving Pelagial, just don't love the vocals (even though they fit and aren't bad, just preference.)

This is proggier than Pelagial (or Phan: I) for my money. They cover more ground here.

Imagine giving Pleistocene a mere 3.5/5.

Instrumentals are still there so honestly not that mad about it, but hope the version with vocals returns soon though...

Such a shame Jurassic is the best thing on here by quite some distance.
Still don't quite 'get' this band, Precambrian is cool though.
