Both dbm are about even for me, dbm2 is more fun but dbm just hits harder.

How dbm2 vox are so much less grating than they are now. Higher and I like they way they sit in the mix more

If you're talking about Johnny's vocals I agree, if you're talking about Jon's I am totally lost.

I don't understand the appeal of Jon Mess prior to Acceptance Speech. It's not only a different pitch, he sounds like a completely different person. You can kind of hear a transition from DBM II to Acceptance Speech, but damn does he sound different. It's crazy.

^ Wish I heard the same thing. Can't do any albums where Jon sounds that rough. I'll take Will Swan's vocals on Happiness any day over that.

Screams on deathstar and dbm are pretty poor, but dbm2 has my favorite mess screams by a pretty wide margin, then acceptance speech

id much rather listen to mess' screams from anything pre-Tillian than anything from recent albums. I'd say he is pretty good on Mo'ship, but he just sounds bored on the past few releases.

Mess is like a really bad meme on these last couple LPs

Glad more people are starting to recognize DBM2 for the eccentric, creative post-hardcore classic that it is.

I've been in a dgd mood ever since this dropped and its making my memories of this even more sour, since all their other work is exponentially better. Might have to reassess this

i kept it at a 4 for the hype but it's probs a 3.5, a 3.6-8 to be specific.
haven't listened to it much recently but i don't feel like i burned myself out like ArSe so I think this will hold up in its own right.
