No I like Wake Up more. But prefer neither lol.

Yeah the album is definitely a drop-off in quality, but certainly prefer it to Palms.

I think both albums have worse songs than either Wake Up or Hold a Light.

I figured out why I like Everything Belongs so much. It sounds like a Caspian song.

I love Thrice but Palms and Everywhere/Nowhere are the worst thing they've ever done. Is there any hope they will return to one of their older sounds? One can only hope.

I don't even need them to return to an older sound, I just want them to push forward in an interesting way

Yeah, they really need to stop making music for Coldplay fans, it's just not working out for them. I am still hoping for Vheissu part 2 (I've given up on them releasing something in the vein of the masterpiece that is The Artist in the Ambulance), but they seem to be straying further and further from that sound with every new record.

I want another Alchemy Index type project.

I kinda doubt they have any interest in returning to Vheissu/Artist sound, but I could be wrong. You can always hold out hope, tho! The last time I saw them play, they hardly went for any songs before the Alchemy Indexes.

I would say something along the lines of Alchemy would be much more feasible, but still probably won't happen. Maybe I am just being pessimistic.

Whatever it is, I hope they think outside the box. I don’t want another Vheissu, or another Alchemy Index....that would be repetitive and them desperately trying to replicate a sound they’ve evolved from.

But I DO want another classic, creative album along those lines, but only similar in quality. I think that’s sort of what y’all mean. Feels like they’re spinning their wheels a bit and while Palms isn’t bad (love Only Us, Beyond the Pines and Just Breathe), but it’s easily their worst album.

If you listened to this and you honestly really enjoyed it, you're about to have your mind fucking blown when you listen to their other albums. That's actually pretty cool in a way.

This is one of those bands that has a pretty cool and varied evolution over the course of their albums, well at least up to Beggars anyway, so listening in order would be the best way to do it, I think.

Just prepare yourself for some whiplash. Illusion of Safety Thrice and Beggars Thrice might as well be different bands. It's a cool evolution to witness, though.
