I don't feel like jamming it until stockholm syndrome kicks in.
It probably gets better with more listens, but I'd rather just pop IFWWW or NDD and have the nicest of times.

It isn't quite as good as those two, absolutely. But I've settled on a fairly strong 4 for it.

Hope it grows on me. Howard's melodies are good, but I can't get behind the beats. Just feels so hollow compared to ND and nothing is distinguishable.

You should be. This was the first time I got bored enough during a Ben Howard album to just turn it off and put something else on. So naturally I gave it a 3.5.
To clarify, the boredom was relative to the fact that there's a new Antlers album and a new Manchester Orchestra single that I'm also actively interested in, but still, it wasn't a good feeling to be even slightly apathetic towards the guy who created my 2018 AOTY.

The new Antlers is way more boring than the new Howard fwiw

Nah, they're on a pretty similar plane of boring

I wanted to buy this on vinyl a few weeks ago and then realised I already own the cd so now I’m trying to convince myself that my policy on multiple album buys should be rendered and also that my vinyl case really needs a Ben Howard discography

I have this and I Forget Where We Were on vinyl as well.
This on vinyl is a reason it’s the best format.
Looking forward to the new one arriving.
Love a bit of Ben

Fell asleep to the new one just now, but picked up on a few gems beforehand. Maybe it will grow, hmm.

That was my exact reaction too. Felt like sifting through the sand for gems, but there definitely were gems though.
