I don't see a transition issue in Kyoto at all

I think the pauses in transition add a ton more punch to the choruses, they hit like a fucking brick. That's the purpose, emphasis.

and it's not abrupt, there are usually drum buildups so that kinda ruins your argument as well

I really hope they go back to TGG or Suburbia-esque tunes. NCTH is really good, although I still just spend most of the runtime wishing I was listening to a different album of theirs. This album is the same case but even moreso. Like way more

the pauses and start stop shit rules ya
good album do not get why it’s shit on other than the really fucking weird production

that weird production is mostly just the opener though tbh

well I'm glad you guys enjoy this more than I do, but yeah some songs are just disjointed

Still love this, sounds weird on Spotify but the CD sounds great to me

yeah the production kinda kills this for me too, I almost never find myself wanting to go back and listen to it, despite Suburbia/TGG being insanely formative albums for me.

Soupy's vocals can be incredibly irritating. The way he says "I've been so fucking afraid" in the opener makes me cringe every time. So does "I heard somebody cry" in the closer. He's an amazing singer and has been getting better from album to album, but the way he sings here is my biggest problem with this album along with the production.

Love that delivery in raining in kyoto

It just irks me how he sings nearly every line like he's on verge of tears.

| |
Album Rating: 5.0
it's very loosely pop punk bud, it's more indie rock based like brand new

the closer and "It Must Get Lonely" are still great
just not feeling as much as their last two albums
