^this and yes "probably"
And not charismatic as rockstars by any means (quite the oposite), but just 2 cool young dudes in a fuckin basement/room. Also another thing that sets this appart is the theme going across the full discog representing themselves as slugs and so on...

@lordes
Tbf metal is not the genre for "charisma" but I think ambition can be found in the non-prog genres (ironically enough!).
You check new Chapel of Disease?

Lol well yes, my opinion is of course only representative of myself

Been through the same journey pots and gravitated heavily towards all things electronic for a long long time even though I used to despise it when I was younger. I had a similar opinion in that I thought electronic music is more boundless and inherently more inovative than trad guitar music since it is more centered on sound manipulation, production techniques and with no limitation on being performable. Now I'm back craving chops and listen to metal almost exclusively. It all goes in periods for me.
Oh and as for metal recs, check out Usurpress' latest album. Jazz drummer and their own style. Less derivative than this if that's what you are looking for. This does rule though so fuck you you're wrong *wink wink* ^^

In fact the name came out of a joke on the band's members about sludge bands having animals names, so the assumption is correct. Their sound has nothing to do with sludge though...
