I think this album just has the number of 'fans' you'd expect - it's hardly 'the march of the fanboys'.
The 'haters' on the other hand are really high in number and extreme due to the artist's stature/image/persona/media presence. You wouldn't expect this much hate for something that 'sounds a little like Elton John'. Usually that sort of thing would result in some 2.5s at worst.
