This is a little less histrionic than IV which I appreciate, but still has some of its inconsistency issues. II will always be my fav for all the emotional songwriting and plot points of the concept, and I is really subdued in a great way, and generally really well made without going over the top like they did afterwards sometimes.

V>IV>II>III>I

The change in sound between III and IV was the best thing to happen to this band.

At this point I've come to the conclusion that I can't rank the Acts

V and IV are easily the top 2, but I can't choose between them, and which one of the earlier 3 I prefer often just has to do with my mood. I will say I think II is a little overrated and I and III are a little underrated

Color Spectrum is still best though

I personally think I is one of the better acts... It's just short.

But I can't get into III though no matter how hard I try. Might just need more listens.

That's the beautiful thing about TDH and the Acts series is that everyone has their favorites and least favorites, all for a variety of reasons.

Between this, Devin Townsend, Norma Jean, and Vektor for me. Man it's been a crazy year.

@onionbubs

Nope, not a bad place to start at all - I started here too. Fell in love with Act II later on when I started at from Act I and went up xD

Not much love for The Moon/Awake, eh? That song is dark and atmospheric as hell, but also beautiful
