Be'Lakor always inserts a bit of mystery into their albums that, at least for me, takes several listens to appreciate. The new one is great, but I'm hoping with more listens it grows on me.

Rly enjoyed first run but yeah too big to absorb just yet. One thing that came to mind is they certainly know how to end a song

Haha just listening to the end of Much More Was Lost right now, and yeah it's pretty epic as usual.

Much More Was Lost may very well be close to Countless Skies in terms of wonderfully executed closers.

Only 2 listens in and the new album is fantastic. I think they've leaned even deeper into those patient, meandering moments on stuff like vessels. It's a little less immediate but I appreciate that the band knows how to hone in on the power of restraint.

not counting The Dispersion, I think only Foothold and Indelible are subpar for Be'lakor standards. all other tracks are superb.

The Smoke of Many Fires is absolutely killer. Enough alone to bump this to a 3.5.

^ I’ve never listened to this album and thought the song was called “Smoke at a Nursing Home” and was like, goddamn, that’s paints an image

Well most of these fires are unspecified. They don't say it isn't a nursing home.
