imo, FF is great in small doses. They have a habit of making their songs and albums just way too long for one sitting. Archspire, on the hand, knows the formula.

I could never enjoy Dasein as much as I wished aside from a few favorites. But the riffing in the new one feels more melodic, varied, and well paced. Each song feel like they have much more of their own defined identity. I couldn't imagine it having turned out better. I love love the pinch harmonics all over the place. I really can't call it wank at all. It's way too classically composed and melodic. It's not want just because you play relentlessly and fast

Wow the new album really does blow this away. It's tech upon tech, yet each songs flows well and has structure.
Only thing is, I'm about halfway through it and it already feels like I've listened to a full album.

My favourite parts are when you got guitarist pan right sweeping at 180 bpm and pan left you got the other guitarist doing a totally independent solo. Love that counterpoint shit
