imho = in my horrible opinion

I'm kidding, but I completely disagree. Now, to do this for probably the 100th time in a Deafheaven thread.... Sunbather>Roads to Judah>New Bermuda.

Yeah lol, Sunbather is a 5 for me, this nor RoJ can match Sunbather's primal energy and appeal

i mean its all subjective but it's not especially cathartic to me like certain other black metal . It's just euphoric, frenetic, mellifluous, flows well and there's something about blast beats, shrieks and the major scale that works so well where it shouldn't really

Maybe not a masterpiece like Sunbather, but this is still got some banging tracks. Luna and brought to the water are top tier deafheaven. Can't wait for their next album

[2] they both have their awkwardness here and there because of how rushed the album was, but purely from a writing perspective they're upper deafheaven-tier deafheaven songs.

There is such a gulf between absolutely incredible and so so bad all over this album, sometimes even in the same song. Shame
