It's hard to know who to believe yeah, there are definitely two sides to this coin and she could definitely be doing it for publicity, but then i agree with gyro that her post seemed pretty sincere. at the end of the day i wouldn't put this past gira at this point, we see him as a public figure so its hard to comprehend that he might do something like this but its entirely possible.
