Cannibal Corpse too. This beats them out, I understand it's on a whole nother level, but I haven't jammed much dm this year. I still need to hear Fallujah and Horrendous too

Sarcasm doesn't really translate well through text, plus lots of people still laugh at Job for a Cowboy

Third favourite metal album of 2014 in my books

Well its definitely influenced a lot by psychedelia, so I can see why you'd think some of the passages as

weird (don't think I'd use the word uncool though). And this is easily one of the most cohesive and thematic

albums I've heard this year, but I guess that's just me. I thought Teitanblood was kind of a mess though

with a pretty awful production job, certainly less tight than this.

I just listened to some of their tracks and the production is better than I remember, but I can imagine the album becoming really tiring to listen to after a couple tracks. Maybe I just have a qualm with the lo-fi, but I feel like I'm missing out an a lot of the music when there's so much goddamn stuff going on at once, all the time.

To each his own of course, cool to see you're liking this. I do have some decent headphones too, they're a modified Fostex t50rp. What kind of cans do you have?

Yeah, both decent for sure, really want to get either the senn 650s or maybe the HiFiman HE-500s. Wish I had money too

Yeah, I'd suggest looking up if there are ever any Head-fi meetups near your area, there is so much cool stuff there. STAX, hd-800s w mods, HiFimans, etc. and some ridiculous amps (not that they make a huge difference, they do look fukin rad though)

@emester I stopped using them after I got my current cans a while back. The soundstage on those is just

bologna unfortunately, and if that's a big issue for you I think the grados would be a welcome change

considering they're open cans. Can't say either are very comfortable though, and I wouldn't buy anything

more than an 80, they don't really get much better after that

I personally love them but some albums just sound like plain crap on them for me. so yeah I do get what your saying. As for comfort, as long as the thing arent boring holes in my ears I think I will be fine. Wallets a bit thin though after just upgrading to a new turntable
