The vocal harmonies on So Stay Close are brilliant. I am very close to 5ing this.

This obliterates Silver Mount Zion's new album, but they aren't very similar.

no they aren't, that's a pretty silly comparison.

spending an excessive amount of time rambling on about a subject which bores a girl isn't usually a good thing

If she waits it out though you're onto a winner, but yeah maybe just cool it a bit after that

It's a bad and off putting way to build a connection with someone you're getting to know

if its who you are its who you are. best way to build a connection is to be yourself.

Agreed with that actually. If someone's into you they just want to listen to you and be interested in what you like. They might not like it themselves, and if you drone on and on about it without listening and understanding what she likes you should expect her to get bored.

I can see why you might keep your music fascination to yourself for a bit though, but if it works out you're going to have to 'come clean' eventually anyway

not initially unless you have a naturally charming personality. monologuing is a good way to make a bad first impression unless you're robert downey jr or someone

anyone who is a self-aware and not too socially awkward person will always realise they're talking a bit too much and say something like "sorry i keep going on about this i just get excited sometimes, tell me to shut up!" or whatever. if you don't realise when you're boring someone and you keep going to the point of monologue, then you're probably a bit socially unaware and you have bigger problems than your passion for music.
