Yeah Triffids is the only song I'm not really a fan of. Everything else is pretty awesome.

Sun Dies, Blood Moon is the best song on this, such an epic closer

Sadly, lots of awesome albums this year but not much above 4. It's between this and Oathbreaker

Awesome dig btw, album is so good despite the hate TMV gets

If you look at my ratings I gave so many 4's and a good amount of 4.5's. I'm more lenient with my ratings but I also really believe when I give those scores those albums deserve it. Of course, it can change over time.

Pretty good album, with plenty of aggression and chaos. It's slightly disjointed, given that there are both long (Closing track 'Sun dies, blood moon') and extremely short (The one-two punch of 'Afterhour animals' and 'The lash whistled like a singing wind') songs, but the musicianship here is solid enough to keep the album going on a consistent basis. Although I personally think the opener 'Hive minds' is the most boring song on the album (To me it just drags on for far too long), the other nine are more than enough to make up for it. The title track itself is brilliantly written, gradual and tense but with an ambitious finish that proves extremely worthwhile to listen to, and 'Sword in mouth, fire eyes' is strangely melodic, often eschewing the band's usual aggressive front but always dependant on the controlled rhythm section and Cory Brandan's cleaner vocal style. Certainly one of the better Metalcore albums of 2013.

It's a good song but it takes way too long to get going. One of the only things I don't like about this

Wow, Hive Minds has actually grown to be one of my favorites. It just builds well, and that bass riff is so Showbread-y idk
