Brennistein is so AMAZING. I wished they'd move away from their core sound more often, at least if the results sound anywhere near as awesome as that one. That isn't meant to sound like I don't love said Sigur Rós core sound, but it's always nice to see them try new things.

Staralfur for me.
On the subject of this record, gets better every time I hear it.

I might 5 this soon, it’s grown on me loads (& it was an easy 4 first time around). Astounding beauty, craft & weirdly accessible yet still seems to retain the depth for repeated listening. I’m not sure how these guys keep doing it, truly one of the best bands around.

This album is essentially perfect. As far as my favourite from this goes I must’ve been through the entire track-listing by now, changes all the time.

Nah much better than that, perfect combination of depth & accessibility. I’ve always been a sucker for these guys, love that they tried something different here.

Things are good, got a headache but blasting out music through headphones cures that, right? I’m a delicate flower though, no metal for now, haha
How’s Aiwaz?

This album is perfect until Rafstrumur, MAYBE that track is a little bit throwaway & maybe I was a little premature giving this a perfect score, damn close though. I'll end up preferring ( ) & Takk again, in fact I probably already do. Revisiting their whole discog at the minute.
Brenisteinn is one of the greatest tracks they've ever done.

Rafstraumur is great, reminds me of Hoppipolla and Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur.

shame about the (alleged) rape
|
| |
Aw, fuck.
|
| |
I wonder if a new album would have been out by now if it weren't for the rape accusation.
|

I'm digging this a lot more than () or Ágætis tbh, the industrial rock percussion really helps give the dreamy floaty stuff some heft and contrast
