Longineu was always going to be hard to replace. He's a great drummer. So is Travis though, so excited if it's him filling in the sticks.

LP is a beast but I love Nathan Young's style too. Travis is probably a better fit for what Yellowcard tries to do most of the time though

I like Nate a lot. I'm cautiously optimistic for what Travis will bring to the table. Hopefully it allows the band to do more energetic songs like on this one, but I also hope they don't abandon their lusher and more creative side.

Yeah I hope their songs have more life with Travis. I miss the upbeat/fast punk stuff they used to do like this

Same. They're a punk band after all. Mid tempo is nice too, but some of their greatest songs have a lot of energy to them imo.

I remember sitting in my friends car listening to Awakening when it first came out. I was eating a baconator. I got food poisoning the next day.
Thanks Yellowcard.

"this is a better album but Paper Walls' high points are higher
I'd take Takedown and Paper Walls over anything here"
Totally agree. This is their best album front-to-back but, Paper Walls has their best tracks.

I'd counter that Paper Walls is the catchier album but that Southern Air is simply better music. SA as a whole is more mature musically and lyrically, from front to end.

I'm of the opinion that Southern Air is their best record front-to-back, every song resonates lyrically and the instrumentation/vocal work is bar none the tightest and most well-tuned in their entire discography.
