I usually do it when I'm coming off a hangover or when it's nice out I'll take a walk and just ponder shit. It's kinda therapeutic I think.

@fdh that's impressive. when i have a hangover i just spend the entire day (well actually two days) praying to god that my nausea goes away
now i just drink a lot of water and don't drink that much so it's a non-issue

They have been good their entire career.
|
| |
digging so far i like the spin he's put on it nice vibes but damn it doesn't quite feel right without dat bassline

Yeah, definitely. I actually prefer the "vibe" of Noel's version, but I prefer Morrissey singing it, so the original's still my favorite (but not by as much as you'd think)
|
| |
yeah sounds like noel tinkered with the chords a bit or maybe they just sound different without the bass but either way it created an intense mood
for all the (mostly deserved) shit noel gets about being a knob, gotta admit he's one hell of a musician and songwriter

These guys covered There is a Light That Never Goes Out.
I thought it was pretty nifty but a lot of the comments said it was bad. Which I don't get, it's pretty much exactly the same as the original but more production heavy and with this guy's vocals (trying to imitate Morrisey's, of course), which wasn't so bad at all.

Well for starters yeah it's a little production heavy, they drown out Stephen's voice a little on the verses (which is a shame because he pulls off the verses in general better than Morrissey imo). And the chorus just isn't as good, period.
It's not bad tho, not sure why people would go that far. disappointing though

I'm always pondering :-/
Call this a prelude to a lifetime of I don't know
|
| |
yeah there's nothing wrong with anberlin's version but it's basically equivalent to looking at a photograph of a
painting

sure but no one expects you to know the lyrics yet, let alone know what they're about lol
maybe this will be what i do on tues when i have free time, there's a lot of songs i'm not sure on the lyrics actually
|
| |
have you seen a website called songmeanings.net or something like that
it's basically a database with the lyrics of any song you can think of and then people discussing them trying to work it out
I haven't checked it in a few years but used to check when I was more interested in deciphering lyrics
idk might help you work it out

yeah I check it if i'm really stumped (even though usually i hate being handed the answer)
it definitely feels like it's generally populated by 14 year old girls, especially considering some of the music I listen to (including this). but there are some pretty good posts among all the shit (and you can sort by rating so that helps) that do give a lot of insight.
