Album Rating: 2.5
Ya I'm a pretty big fan of their back catalogue, but this album is pretty bunk. I'd say Curl is pretty kick-ass, even if there's a few too many choruses.
I wish they'd leave writing pop songs to Bon Iver and Will Smith.

They were bad enough to make me realise they were there, Curl of the Burl that is.

This album rocks, and whoever sees them live (Rock Werchter 2012) - they're excellent. The fact that
they progress is good, and they are still unique. The names and the lyrics are absurd (what I like).
But in rare occasions, this bores me. Stilla 4.5/5 for me though.
And about Curl of the Burl: the rougher guitar sound is live undeniable strong. It's one of my favorite
Mastodon songs - forgive me.
