That's a very drastic change of feeling, one that doesn't make much sense.
My early impressions of the album have stuck with me now for several listens, not really changing. If anything, it got a bit worse. The vocals are just dreadful; not unique edgy, new or impressive, just annoying. The music itself is absolutely great, but that doesn't 'make' the album for me. Only just makes it ok to deal with.
