The Shrine / An Argument might be my favorite Fleet Foxes song
That dissonant ending...

Have you ever heard the slightly extended live version?
"When the tides came in, the Ides would never let you stay. In the night time with the light on every light all day. In the morning leaving me no time to obey. "

I think they normally do the extra verse now but just in case, here's a time-stamped video of it at 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival.

This is their most well rounded album. Very harmonious, gorgeous, and flourishing. It's just experimental enough and isn't as poppy as Shore.

love Montezuma and the title track and Grown Ocean are great too, rest is solid but held back by the overly airy and trebly production. it bothered me even when I was a kid and was much less picky about production

Fear not users, because Crack-Up was created for this very reason. It is everything HB is as well as everything it isn't. It is fuller, more adventurous, and will leave you longing no more!

well said. Crack Up is really good. it seems like a lot of their fanbase outside of music nerd spaces like sput and rym think it's their worst though. i don't understand why
