Waiting is such an overlooked gem, I love bits of that album to death. It must have been so cool getting into them that way (I kinda started in the middle and worked forwards and backwards at the same time)

they were phenomenal to see live after they released the album before this one. Such a good dive bar concert in front of fifty people too with Fall of Troy.

Thursday's discography is a steady progress. No return to roots and bullshit. No sudden changes. I think No Devolucion is a perfect swan song for them, no matter how much I'd love a new album.

As much as I like this one, I come back to common existence way more than the others.

Common Existence is amazing, too. Friends in the Armed Forces gets me pumped every time.

Common Existence is my favorite for sure. They were great on Sunday and they played two tracks from this

Yeah, Friends in the Armed Forces is a solid track. I'm a huge fan of the first five songs on the album. Last Call's intro is amazing. Such force!

No Devolucion is much more consistent though; I feel like Common Existence is a little front loaded.

Not sure if I agree, Love Has Led Us Astray and You Were the Cancer are a brilliant closing combo.

Subway Funeral and Circuits of Fever are rad as heck too

I love Circuits of Fever; subway funeral does nothing for me though. Nothing wrong at all with the last two, I just don't find them as strong as the front of the album.

Subway Funeral is a great track. Keep spinning it and it'll click for you.

Funny that you say Common Existence is front loaded. I'm thinking the album is pretty well balanced if not back loaded. IMO, the stinkers are mixed in somewhat evenly. Those being Fake Nostalgia and Last Call

I haven't spun Common Existence in a while so I'm sure I'm forgetting one of the worse tracks on that LP.

And even then, Fake Nostalgia and Last Call aren't bad tracks, they just don't have anything to make them stand out like the other Common Existence tracks do.

Last Call is amazing, though.

Loving the Common Existence appreciation here, second best Thursday after this. Subway Funeral and Dark Mountain are as good as it gets

As He Climbed the Dark Mountain is one of their best songs imo, think I prefer the version on the split with envy a little more though

Agreed, jester, and An Absurd and Unrealistic Dream of Peace is top 3 Thursday also. That EP is monumental.

Not sure about this "Fake Nostalgia" song you're speaking of ripquill, that song doesn't exist on my version of Common Existance.
