you listen to ok computer yet sonic?

Amnesiac and Kid A are far superior to everything else they have done. The this, OKC and IR are pretty much tied. And Hail to the thief is further. Bends and PH suck asshole.

i've always liked amnesiac but definitely is what i'm talking about: mixtape shit. lots of good
songs but also some that are among their worst. "pull/pulk" is just annoying (and sort of reminds me
of the worst tracks from here [or vice versa]), "i might be wrong" (despite its cool guitar line) is
boring, "dollars and cents" is more of them going nowhere, as is "hunting bears". take those out and
you've got enough tracks to sustain me, but the album works best when mixed in with other radiohead
shit either way.
whereas play kid a from the beginning and even the, uh, "lesser" tracks (of which there are really
none, but this is the title track, treefingers et al) feel really perfect. insert something about
amnesiac's overriding aesthetic not being enough for me to ignore its cheaper moments. honestly, one
of them's the "masterpiece" for a good reason.

ya I understand your argument but I have always looked at them as two album juxtaposed to one an
other. Kid A is a perfect album, at this point almost no one argues that. Whereas Amnesiac is yes
less than perfect in a few areas (though to be fair "dollars and cents" and "I might be wrong" are
two of my favourite Radiohead songs [ then again I am not really a fan of "pyramid song" so it
balances out]) I find it too be "more perfect" than Kid A when it is good.
Where Kid A is this cool calculated and perfect album Amnesiac is more dynamic and exciting. It goes
up and down and makes it really difficult to pin down what the album is really about where Kid A's
aesthetic is much easier to get a handle on.

"pyramid song" is so goood man......
i see what you're saying, but i have a problem thinking of that "up/down" structure as intentional and/or something to analyze as much as them just being not on their a-game as they were for kid a. same thing with this, sorta

something about the way amnesiac pulls me in more than one direction at once always gets me. i see why lots of people don't like it and i dunno how to describe it better than that, but it just does it for me

Yeah, I didn't like it at all at first. Still my least favorite on the album, but I think it's really good now.

Give Up The Ghost might be my favorite... the atmosphere and Thom's vox just kill it
