agreed, I don't hear any filler here at all or anything that drags on in the slightest with a possible exception of the intro but hell, it's an intro.

How can you say To Drown is epic or anything like that? It's just a bunch of noises for 10 minutes. They may have tried to make it atmospheric and epic, but it fails. I'm not trying to put this down because I love it. Hell it's my number 2 for this year, but the point is that it's the worst Agalloch album and they could've done even better.

as is any song. the noises here however are very, very good noises that I love :3
They may have tried to make it atmospheric and epic, but it fails.
i have to highly disagree, it's atmospheric as hell and one of the most epic parts of the album for me.

Well to each his own. I just feel like To Drown is definitely one of, if not the most, boring thing they've ever done.

I don't really bitch about it and I'm not bitching about this. I'm just pointing out they could've done better. Like I said, the three middle songs are fantastic and I do like the intro, it just goes on too long. That all makes up for To Drown.

disagreed, I find all the parts just boring. it's why I think Ashes is their worst. Otherwise it would have easily been on par with their other stuff. :[
to be fair though, Ashes is still pretty fucking close. the other 4 tracks (not including on this white mountain) are easily some of their best material.
