he also lived in mexico, so maybe that was also a factor, either way i thought it was hilarious when he told me.

He should have brought in MoR, nothing "diabolic" about that cover. Its just words

"After Forever at #4..."
Well it riffs hard like most of the other songs on MoR, but it also has some of the best lyrics of any Sabbath song.
Some of the worst lyrics*

gotta say yeah after forever has really crappy lyrics, really juvenile jabs at afterlife
philosophy. it's not just the subject matter tho they just strike me as immaturely worded

I'm not a Christian either, but "After Forever" has spectacular lyrics. They're defending religion,
which seems uncharacteristic for such a supposedly "anti-Christian" band.
They're also the best lyrics to show someone who's like "OMG BLACK SABBATH ARE SATAN
WORSHIPPERS!!!!"

The lyrics are fine, Geezer can do much better though.

sabbath have never had great lyrics (though they get the job done) but on that song theyre just kinda irritating and borderline in-your-face preachy

Nothing wrong with being a little preachy in music. If Geezer had a message to get across he
did it.

Disagree demi. Always felt that Sabbath had great lyrics for the most part, especially on this and Sabotage.

Sabbath's lyrics > DP's lyrics > Zep's lyrics imo

Yeah, Geezer lyrics are epic dude
As for After Forever, I think it is interesting to see Sabbath giving their message in a very direct way (most of their songs are christian friendly, they just use reverse psychology). I mean, if a band like Stryper wrote those lyrics they wouldn't be as interesting as they are

This. I don't care that they're Christian based it's just the lyrics themselves are really bad.

Geezer is definitely a better bassist than lyricist, but he's still fantastic in that regard. Obviously Tony's riffs rule all no matter how good the lyrics are.
