Beauty > humour (in music), though.

I agree but Supper's Ready has both

The beauty in Supper's Ready just isn't on the same level imo.

Yeah that part is amazing but The Lamia is just perfect from start to finish. It's probably in my top 3 songs of all time.
|
| |
The Lamia is Genesis's best song without a doubt in my mind.

I like you Motiv.

So JT, what's your interpretation of the lyrics?
|
| |
To be honest I don't like to look too deep into the meaning behind it as the ambiguity and the surreal nature of that particular song is one of the things that makes it so intriguing. But basically it's Rael experiencing some kind of dream-like experience inspired by a sexual fantasy of Gabriel's, which acts as a transition into what happens (to Rael) in The Colony of Slippermen.

You know your Genesis, Fripp.

I think the last quarter of this album was the last part to really hit me but now it's one of my favourite sections of the whole album.

''It'' is a real grower. And I guess you include the Colony of Slippermen, JT.
|
| |
Yeah, everything from Colony to the end.
I prefer the second disc to the first overall. Of course part of that has to do with the fact that the second disc has my favourite Genesis song and one of my favourite songs of all time in the form of The Lamia.

Yeah I think the only letdown has to be the first part of the Waiting Room.
