You're surprised that a pop punk album, released in the genre's hayday, that touches topics that resonates with a large group of people and has tremendous nostalgic value is considered something special by some people?

I feel quite the opposite, I think it's great that Sputnik has it's hipster-esque music tastes but can also enjoy and *gasp* like records that were popular and mainstream.

I'm afraid I'll always be chained to this by nostalgia. I was hooked the second I heard Cute Without the E on a comp I got at ZAP records when I was 12. Plus, these guys really were one of the best early 00's "MTV emo" bands.

Let me have my shitty taste, you nincomcunts.

^I see this album as a truly genuine piece of emo music. It's nostalgic, sure, but even before it was out long enough to be considered "nostalgic," it just had this extremely earnest and raw appeal to it that will always be loved for. Sucks it spun off an entire genre of crap, but for what it was, in its day, it was something special. It and Deja Entendu are emo masterpieces.
