i think the main reason for the negative response towards the album was the amount of mainstream exposure it got - literally every type of music channel/station - from the 'metal' to the 'pop' - was playing the singles

I still listen to this occassionally and it's good. Some of the political lyrics are a bit over the top though, especially considering it's Greenday.

Sputnik isn't here to dictate what you should enjoy, If you hated this album then fine.
