so im liking this a lot more than before, but there are still things getting in the way of this being the lauded masterpiece that I believe it not to be. But there are some truly stunning moments on here when Iver doesn't sound distant and awkward.

Skinny Love, The Wolves and Blindsided are the best so far, loved them all. But what I can't ignore are the two awful openers, Lump Sum and Flume. Iver's melodies are cringing on both those tracks, and his sometimes incredible voice is used very poorly on those two tracks. But the album definitely picked up after that

anyway im really loving the soft LOUD soft LOUD play on "Creature Fear". Definitely gonna have to bump this rating, but the first two tracks are just so annoying and poorly put together imo

oh, no problem. My issue with the opening tracks is awkwardness. On those two, I feel that Vernon doesn't use his amazing voice well, the melodies are very irritating and make me kind of gag. In Lump Sum, Vernon did some experimental stuff at the end which really annoyed me in terms of its flow, which ruined that song for me overall. Those two songs seem really distant in a bad way, and on the next few tracks, Vernon really picks up the vocal/melodic bliss, and I no longer feel awkward and annoyed. I feel that those first two songs show the worst of what Vernon does, everything that he's great at are displayed poorly on those two tracks for me. The rest of this is excellent though.

ok
anyway Re: Stacks was very good too but overrated by you guys and a little too long.
The first and second times I listened to this it was a 2.5, but now that Ive gotten into this genre, I can safely put this at a 4. I still think Iver is a tad overrated, but Vernon really shows some genius in the records best moments. I loved Skinny Love, The Wolves, Blindsided, Creature Fear and For Emma. Middle of the album is the strongest
