I feel that about needing to talk about this album. I NEVER get to talk about how good this album is in normal social circles. Gotta go online to fawn over it.

I need the combined version though. So epic.

It's much more interesting! Still a punishing and exhausting listen (in a good way) but now it has so much more depth.

Listening to both discs combined raises this to a whole nother level. I cant imagine listening to it split. Highly recommended.

I've been listening to this since '05 when I saw them play a floor show with Battlefields. The combined version is mandatory listening, to me, and I cycle it in from time to time, but I heavily prefer the standalone version for normal consumption.

I can see it my dude. What ever in the mood for. The synced version is massive however and the best experience. Once I listened to it I hardly ever want to go back.

yeah feels kinda hollow when the ambient side is removed but it's really fucking good even without it

The vinyl version has a different arrangement of tracks that intersperses the ambient between the metal ones to create a more seamless experience. It flip flops between 33rpm and 45rpm from side to side. It feels less daunting than the original two disk listen but is still a pretty massive undertaking. Hugely rewarding though.

Just rip or buy the digital version (I prefer bandcamp for hq rip) and combine the two tracks using audacity(free) or something similar. You may want to lower the ambient track 6dB or so but that a personal preference.

It's pretty easy.

I really need to hear the combined version. It’s such a cool concept but practically difficult.

“ the ambient side made me forget time existed”

It’s such a different ride when you go all ambient at once like on the OG cd. Edit. Whoa a 5.0 on the first listen! Was a rad Sunday for you.

Or I can acquire another record player and drop two needles simultaneously to make use of this insane double gatefold vinyl purchase...
