No one probably cares, but I have a review written up for the new album that I should have put the finishing touches on my the time it's released.

I'll care as long as it's well written ;]

I hope that it is, but it won't exactly be a "normal" review.

Cool. I'm glad Kyle's working on a review for the new album. I think he and I pretty much share the same sentiments toward it anyway.

I listened to CL once and I hate to admit I was let down Hopefully I just wasn't in the mood or something.

The new one is definitely their weakest IMO.

It just seemed like it was missing a lot of elements. They didn't even use that classic rolling drum beat, and that was my favorite thing about them.

the first song made me so excited they'd use more keyboards but the rest of the songs had barely any and just sounded like a copy of this album.

Ya, there was a severe lack of build-up's or anything paying off. Like 6:20 on Vastness and Sorrow, nothing on CL came even close to that.

the last track was unforgivable too, I've no idea what wittr were thinking when they decided to make a 11 minute shit version of dea artio

i mean my god they already made a shit 5+ minute copy on the same album :[

I liked the new one, but definitely not to the extent of their other stuff. Definitely seemed like it had a lot of riffs that went nowhere and also, like Gmork said, a severe lack of build-ups and climaxes as the previous albums.

Haha, astral blood was pretty cool though I guess. I think I have just became too fond of the post-rock influenced BM, so these songs that go nowhere don't do much for me any more.

the only track on the new album I really like is Thuja Magus Imperium, it has the only memorable riff in the whole album apart from the last track which is one of the most predictable chord structures in history

Ya, TMI and Astral Blood were the only 2 that did anything for me.

I enjoyed all of the songs at certain points, but Thuja Magnus Imperium was pretty much the only one that kept me entertained the whole way through. It seemed like when the other tracks were good they were really good, but got boring as they went along.
