One thing it certainly has going for it is its length. 42 mins is perfect, any longer and it runs the risk of overstaying its welcome and any shorter and it would be over too fast.

yeah it's its own entity, not really comparable to the rest of their albums

its entirely comparable to the rest of their albums. its a tasteful and cohesive blend of their electronic experimentalism of HTTT, Amnesiac and Kid A mixed with the more minimal guitar oriented passaged of their earlier work.

I wouldn't say there's much Kid A in here, but yeah the minimal guitar oriented passages of OKC are present

The only song I'd really call terrifying is Idioteque, mainly for it's paranoid/apocalyptic nature.

Then again, the whole album does have a paranoid/apocalyptic feel to it.

Never really saw it as paranoid or terrifying, gave me more of a feeling of alienation/loneliness
But yeah, In Rainbows almost sounds like a midway between OKC and Kid A to my ears

yeah I guess I was asking is it radiohead in front of a computer or is it radiohead with a guitar but I like when they do both at once so I'm sure I'll dig In Rainbows, its the reason I like this significantly more than Kid A
