“yeah this is a capital offense“
context matters. Pretty sure that’s made up of very few albums and how is 38% comparable to 13%? 😆 I’m disappointed by this analysis

post-disco sounds lit NGL.

post rock is a scourge that should never appear on a pie chart
black metal is good
what would qualify as post disco

right, I’ve analysed (very briefly) and my post rock slice is comprised almost entire of (above 4)…
Talk Talk (+ Mark Hollis), Bark Psychosis, Slint, GY!BE (3 albums / EPs), Mogwai (2 albums), Sigur Ros, The For Carnation, Labradford, o.rang (i.e. only the good shit).
BM is fine. 38% BM is basement dwelling nonsense
|
| |
not a fan of gybe, mogwai or sigur ros
ive never heard the for carnation or labradford before
" BM is fine. 38% BM is basement dwelling nonsense" i could never listen to so much of one genre

Ah shit Kashiwa Daisuke and 65dos are there too.
but yeah, it’s fairly easy to attain 13% of anything tbh. Always saw 30%+ as obsessive levels

Yeah. Post anything is decent tbf. Regarding Post-rock, it’s places in very similar realms to post-metal for me, in that the higher echelons are incredible, yet the copyists are everywhere
Unfortunately there seems to be a perception in some circles that all post-rock is like post-GY!BE wave 3 cresendocore nonsense, whereas it was a lot more interesting / diverse earlier on (even some of the bands I listed were guilty of that later on).

>what would qualify as post disco
larry levan, walter gibbons, tom moulton, west end records, salsoul records, patrick cowley
new york garage, electro, boogie all that underground dance stuff that was happening as mainstream disco was dying
imho
