Old school stuff dude, not the commercial, mass produced superficial shite knocking about nowadays

Ok. Do you really feel this is commercial and produced for the mass? I feel it’s too personal and musically rich to be considered as such

Comes across as product to me.

I'm not even a big fan of this but i do think it's more than product

Not mindless product but certainly sheeny product. Nothing here gets in the bones, hip-hop just doesn’t reach the soul like it used to. It’s a massively shit genre with the odd bit of gold but even that loses its appeal as the years pass.

What are your faves hip hop records? Honestly it seems hard to believe all the albums you like in the genre aren’t products at all

Very good albums agreed. Liquid Swords is like a 4.7 to me
Either way, TPAB manages to be deeply personal to Kzndrick yet speaks to me and countless of other people. Just an awesome I can’t get enough

I just find it all very diluted. DNA from his last one is incredible but the album is so-so.

I appreciate what kendrick is doing story-wise. I agree that it's very personal and it's told well. Sonically i just don't care too much about this. Instrumentally i don't find myself latching onto anything and there are few vocal moments that bother me (mostly in u and hood politics)
