Ghandi! That was me that messaged you on RYM back in the day! I'd still like to hear your thoughts on why you didn't like the album haha. I certainly don't care as much these days since I'm no longer a part of Vektor, but I'm always genuinely curious to know why someone doesn't enjoy what we did. And no we did not break up over some dude on the internet talking shit on us hahahaha. I know Sinternet would love to claim that, but it was a far bigger issue than he could ever hope to be (you know I'm kidding, I know you're a big deal, don't worry friendo!)

Anyway, how the hell is everyone? the holidays sucked this year, hooray!

Two of the best bumps MeatSalad (CoL is the other), nice work.

'Obliveon sounds like an Eevee evolution eg. Espeon Umbreon Flareon' (2)

Nailed it, although with a name like that it could be a dark type & that's already covered with Umbreon, oh wait I'VE GOT IT! Ghost type Pokemon 'Obliveon'. Nice. This is where you tell me that's been done as well & I'm behind the times...

Ghosts are the best, I wish there were more of them (in the early days at least).

The rarity of them is what made them cool and prestigious. Now there are a 100 diff species or whatever. And don't even get me started on the so called "legendary" Pokemon when there's like 10 per generation lol

Owning a Gengar in gen 1 was probably the pinnacle tbh

Agreed. Hell, I would go as far to say owning any of those 3rd stage trade evolutions like Golem or Machamp was also an achievement. Personally, I never had anyone to trade with lol.

I used to trade with my bro. Especially needed to get Steelix in Gen 2.

Only issue I had with Gengar is the fact it learned no useful ghost type attacks in gen 1, complete balls up I reckon... got better in gen 2, so many interesting moves that time around. Oh, also Haunter actually looked cooler anyway.

If I remember correctly you could teach Gengar Dream Eater in gen 1 while he knew Hypnosis, which was just ridiculous

Also nothing will ever be more broken than Alakazam in gen 1, literally no weakness in the entire pokedex

The biggest botch was if you skipped learning hypnosis because it was like "fuck sleep, I need offensive moves" only to have it learn dream eater later on which is useless without sleep lol. I have made that mistake more times than I can count lol

Dream Eater was a psychic move, Night Shade did set HP damage so couldn’t be super effective. Psychic’s weakness was supposed to be Ghost (& Bug which was equally as useless move wise). Alakazam was ridiculous, best chance was a Jolteon with Pin Missile (high special/bug attack). You could attack with bug but a lot of those Pokemon were also Poison types & there were few bug moves bar the odd Leech Life on a Parasect/Golbat or Beedrill which had Poison type weakness. Snorlax or any physical attacker with high special could best Alakazam although it still wasn’t easy due to the speed differential.

Damn that was all from memory.
