Amnesiac just kinda bores me tbh. I'm not surprised that a lot of people consider the album to just be Kid A leftovers, because it always sounded like that to me

I think they consider it kid a leftovers because it literally is
|
| |
weak take / strong songs
song-for-song amnesiac is probably better than kid a tbqh just has zero flow

I swear it’s just a bad take when people say that
To me, with the except of Pulk/Pull, it’s just a flowy, beautiful, weird alt record
Even Hunting Bears fits perfectly… and is better than Treefingers (which is kind of likes it’s Kid A counterpart?)

They were supposed to be a double album together but Radiohead apparently thought it would cause people to skip tracks
I don’t see Amnesiac as left overs as much as I see both of them as a double album split in half and released a year about to give them breathing room

Kid a is definitely a better album. It wins song for song and as a whole. Amnesiac has songs that are as good as the best on kid a but it also has worse songs than anything on kid a and it doesn’t flow as well. But I still love them both near equally anyways and consider them vital companion pieces to each other

That's pretty much my opinion of Amnesiac, but it drags the album down a lot more for me than it does for you

yeah I'm not a huge amnesiac fan and love Kid A

You’re killing me Sona
Honestly I definitely think Kid has worse lowlights (particularly Treefingers and Motion Picture Soundtrack)

No way, amnesiac morning bell version suuucks and so does life in a glasshouse
I don’t actively dislike anything on Kid a, tho motion picture is not great

I love Glasshouse
And I get why people don’t like Morning Bell/Amnesiac and it’s definitely worse than the Kid A one, but idk I still think it’s good

Did anyone actually enjoy Kid Amnesiac? Leftovers from the leftovers? My god not a good jam in sight

AMNESIAC is [plants flag] a top three Radiohead album.

Amnesiac has some great tracks but overall it’s too abstract for me, compared to OKC KidA IR and this album

"amnesiac morning bell version suuucks and so does life in a glasshouse"
Shit that's validating. Everyone and their mother seems to love Glasshouse but I've always disliked it. Feels like Thom found some old creaky jazz instrumental from 100 years ago and whimpered over it in one take

love glasshouse but i agree with pots (i have to really concentrate not to add an extra t to the username, sorry about that) about kid a having no duff tracks and better flow.

I don't dislike Glasshouse to the point of skipping it, but I think it is 100% the worst song on that album (as opposed to the best, as I've often seen it heralded)

Can you guys please start including trigger warnings on these blasphemous posts.
'Glasshouse' is not merely peak AMNESIAC, but peak Radiohead. Was once in my Top 3 of all their tracks. Would probably still rank in the Top 5.
And while, yes, the KID A version of 'Morning Bell' is superior, the /Amnesiac cut is essential. Demented circus music.
