Yeah this is a masterpiece. Still a shame how bad the new one is.

This and Teethed Glory and Injury really made 2013 the most enjoyable year in music for me.

Imagine if people stopped crying about the people who think the new one sucks because it does.

This and the new one are literally just as good as each other. This has been in my favorites for years. New one seemed to be about as good but wasn’t gonna be quick to say it’s as good, but after a while in rotation I can say it’s just as good. New Bermuda and Roads to Judah aren’t anywhere nearly as good as these two are.
I find it strange so many love this one and hate the new one. To me, they sound so much alike in so many ways. OCHL and Sunbather are much closer linked than this and New Bermuda by a lot. New Bermuda is more of the black sheep of the discog than OCHL. OCHL was the follow up to this one I’ve always wanted. New Bermuda was the placeholder I suppose. This was the result of being themselves. New Bermuda was more confined to proving their metal roots, and as a result their safest release. And then OCHL was them not caring because they knew they’d get hate regardless and still released a bop with no apologies.

I think Roads to Judah is as good as this, barring a couple too-plain guitar lines. New one is okay. Haven’t felt the need to jam it again since the week it came out. New Bermuda has some great tracks and moments, but it suffers from a lot of things that have been pointed out four hundred million times here.
