I agree. It seems the only reason people are lashing out at this is because of James Hetfield's voice similarity.
Or maybe they just don't like the music. If you have payed attention to these 42 pages, it took Steerpike several times to hammer that statement to several fanboys.

Oops! let me rephrase that......SOME people are lashing out at them because of the similarities between the voices of Heafy and Hetfield. Not everyone, sorry about that.

Dreadful band, won't by going anywhere near this album. Good review though.

I liked this band... i heard they get booed a lot at their concerts, and by turning into a metallica cover band i can honestly see why. Their vocals were cool (IMO), i digged the guitars, the drumming was quick yet catchy... bass was nowhere to be see... but seriously, this new stuff is just god awful. They turned from being an alright band (with kinda shitty vocals)... to a terrible band with horrifying vocals, guitars are there... nothing special, the drums are just crappy beyond belief, and the bass yet again is nowhere to be seen... cool band...?

I'm taking the copied soundoff out of my post. I don't want someone to think I typed that garbage, lol. This Message Edited On 02.07.07

I agree with Eakflanderyof. I didnt pay much attention to Trivium untill this album. But their guitars have always been great.

To WARPARTH_88: That wasn't my opinion. I copied and pasted some fanboys soundoff because I thought it was funny in a stupid kind of way.

You agreed with that subnormal's sound off? Including the bad racial stereotype about Asians and screaming that he fucking made up?

When you lot say Trivium sound like Metallica, which albums are they ripping off exactly?

I've only heard Master of Puppets and even that was a cover album by Kerrang.

Everything pre-(Re)Load, to put it plainly. Though Heafy is such a pretentious wanker, I think he's channeling AJFA in particular, Metallica's abysmal attempt at being progressive.

Makes sense. Both are boring and far too lengthy for their own good.

Justice was one of my favorite, only suffering from length of songs and complete lack of bass.

And I find it amazing that this album is still getting comments... page 43? This is crazy.

I heard some of this from a friend, who's a mild fan.

It made me question our friendship.
