I’m on the Johnny / Pika side

Alpha >> Vile >> Goldstar >> (Abyssal > Spirit > Abomina)

to be fair Alpha is likely one of my fave metal albums of all time. Great band

Never understood why their debut was always maligned; I get that it's maybe not as "avant/experimental/whatever" as their subsequent stuff but it's still quite zany and it absolutely rips.

idk it felt like an unfinished template to me, the potential was obvious, but not much more

still better that some things in a similar realm, as it has some decent ideas (especially for a debut)

'Spirit >> Goldstar >> Alpha>> Vile (the rest)'

Based having SPIRIT at the top but VILE so low and ABOMINAMENTVM not even worthy of mentioning by name is kinda hurting my soul a bit.

So many people unable to see this album's utter brilliance... One of the best avant-garde metal albums of the 21st century. I'm 5ing this right now.

Ha ha sorry @tec I got into into this band with Alphaville. Have only jammed Vile a couple of times and haven't heard anything prior to that.

A discog run it's in order!

This here is due for a rejam. Gonna turn it on once I finish up new Drudkh again. Still so disappointed that the new album does nothing for me. :[

Never really 'got' these guys until I actually visited NYC. We ended up in Chinatown at like 9 a.m. in the middle of the summer after taking a redeye flight, couldn't check into our hotel until like 2 p.m. and had to lay in the park all sleep deprived surrounded by millions of people, taxis honking, machines grinding, horns honking, sirens going off. And it clicked.

Damn jamming this while in Chinatown sounds amazing! Gotta drop by Downtown Music Gallery for more weird music shit when being there!

I am a late bloomer with these guys too, my list so far would be Spirit > Gold Star > Alphaville. I saw them live playing most of this album and that made m love it so much!
