This album made me go back and listen to Colors, which made me listen to Alaska again, which made me play the last three minutes of Selkies a dozen times, which made me learn the clean solo, which made me try the sweeps and then I cried.

I'd rather him not review it honestly, because if he does, hordes of fanboys who'll never bother listening to the album will give negative ratings, bringing down the averages here and on places like RYM.

I wouldn’t worry about that honestly. The overlap between those who watch Fantano and use those sites is probably small (unless I’m missing something). Also, his metal reviews don’t pull as many views on most occasions.



Also Bad Habits is great. The callback to Ants of the Sky is a nice touch.

Fantano's review was decent I guess. It seems that he was a fan of Colors (though not enough to catch the Easter eggs) and TGM, and he gives the impression that he would have enjoyed this more if it had been a full embrace of their metalcore roots. It's nice to see him giving the original and TGM the credit that they deserve too, and especially the later, given that it's often overlooked (especially Swim to the Moon). It was surprising to see that he enjoyed Fix the Error so much though, given how he framed his critique, and how much he disliked The Future is Behind Us.

Only a tiny fraction will check them out due to that video, giving it such a low rating certainly does not help. I understand he doesn't like the Zaniness (as he likes to call it) of their recent material. But... come the fuck on... Parallax I and fucking II, those (EP+)album are just an extension of Colors and TGM. His review of Parallax II will always eternally piss me off, I'm not as surprised at his rating towards this one.
