Observer's got a point.. Why are you doing this to yourself? Going in blind, or deaf, I guess, is always the best way to enjoy an album

Agreed, and thanks. It should be obvious for complaints over singles against album quality, but apparently it isn't.

fair point about going in without any prior knowledge. ive never been much for self restraint when it comes to new music though.

i guess i just wish the rest of the album's songs were bangers like jurassic or pliestocene.

I agree that the singles were spoily, in that they were disproportionately the album's heavy points and were a little deceptive as to the overall style.

I read the last few comments again before I gave this another listen and I must say..

I have no clue what the hell you're on about, the whole album is great. They tried something new with this one and it works. The singles are amazing but frankly I'm not even sure if they're high points, because the whole album flows seamlessly.

that's how I did it

they work better together from a dynamics standpoint too. this feels a little anticlimactic with the heavy parts mostly happening early on, rather than having a chill third act when they're paired.

heavy points maybe @ first half, but the 2nd half is so much more interesting musically speaking.

Agreed, I enjoy how this is more atmospheric compared to Phanerozoic I but it wouldn't make it as strong if I didnt have that contrast

still really find the closer to be such a snoozer track when compared to the track right before it. Feels like more of a middle of the pack track or even a slow opener.

pleistocene was my favourite at the beginning but i'm prefering jurassic|cretaceous now. Such a forceful, dynamic song. both rule anyway though
