"man I disagree sooo hard with the sentiments in here about the guitars. Slowly transitioning the synth line to a metal breakdown is the entire appeal of the song to me. It's simple but unique and honestly more complex would just sound incredibly out of place."
I was referring to the ending breakdown that is straight metalcore cheese filled with stale chugs. I agree the breakdown that transitions the song back to core doesn't need to be crazy, but a chuggy breakdown is pretty damn lazy considering they just repeated the same riff over and over again up to that point

I felt that way at first but then I actually liked that it’s the same for some reason. Once it clicked it didn’t feel lazy and felt intentional in a less lazy way I can’t explain lol

So strange that a band that released an album out of nowhere goes the opposite direction and releases a song light years away from the album.

Life is confusing just like taste is subjective I’m afraid

I'd use muddled, uninteresting and tired over "pummeling", "soaring", and "dynamically"

I can get behind muddled and uninteresting if this isn’t your thing but tired? Wtf lol
This sounds nothing like anything they’ve done before and it certainly isn’t phoned in at all. Not sure how you could feel that way about this

this sounding nothing like anything theyve done before in a bad way. writing is even more uninteresting than it usually is for marcuslane w boring as fuck vocal passages and super predictable heavy sections plus i dont fuck w the industrial elements at all
volumes, while sounding absolutely nothing like this making it a pointless comparison, whip ass and have much stronger everything than this

Like I said I mean I totally get if industrial sounding stuff isn’t your bag but to call this tired seems disingenuous.
Also I compared them cause they’re both metalcore. I’m fully aware they aren’t alike.
All of that said I was butt hurt sadboi last night so I’ll slink back to my basement now
