Spotify compresses everything to shit, nearly as bad as YouTube does. If you're on mobile you're not even getting 100 kbps so a lot of stuff will sound bad or worse
Almost like Spotify is a parasite slowly leeching everything good and pure out of the music world

Idk never listened to the remasters... but maybe it‘s why kompys thinks the guitar tone is shit on spotify. Desktop spotify with decent headphones is really good imo. Obv on your phone everything is super compressed and mono.

If it's the remaster it's probably somewhat louder which can make the artifacting worse when it gets compressed

I agree. The remasters are not overcompressed and not lazy loud. I own all of them in physical copies. The experience is slightly enhanced but not different. I prefer it that way, imagine remixed-remastered shit like Megadeth ones.

I prefer the 2008 remasters, but the more recent ones 2016-2017 are ok. None of these are overcompressed or loud. Good headroom and all.
