I do like this a lot but it is definitley weird in that it they're clearly been influenced by artists who were influenced by them. That said they still end up doing it better than most of their copycats so it doesn't bother me.

Agreed, No Longer Making Time is one of my decade favs.

That DIIV album, however, was boring

That song, and all of the songs beside maybe "Sugar for the Pill," are pretty good.

Sugar's an okay song

...just not as good as the other 7 here to me.

God this album's good, y'all talking about DIIV in here are screwy and not invited to my bday party.

the best thing about sugar for the pill is the music video surprisingly. don’t care much for the song

don’t know why is also good, no longer making time is for sure the best. falling ashes and star roving tied for worst two slowdive songs ever

"I'm just really hung up on the idea that people prefer DIIV to this."

Who the fuck?

Also yeah Star Roving isn't ground breaking or anything but it's hella enjoyable

it's definitely more accessible than Pygmalion. I can listen to this anytime, whereas Pyg has more of an autumn appeal to me

I need to revisit Pyg again, to be fair - been a while, but all I can remember is thinking "hm, this is quite nice" about 60% of the time, and being actively bored for the other 40%.
Nothing beats Souvlaki, tho.

Yep this one is amazing. Some of the melodies on here are true shimmering classics. That opener, Christ on a bike.

Yep this one is such a welcome return. One of those rare albums where it’s like they never left.
