Absolute nothingburger. Agree with the review, except So Beneath You at least has a catchy chorus which puts it about most of the stuff here.

> a bunch of top tier choruses on here yeah
Is it:
They're barking in the wrong key
They're barking in the wrong key
They're barking in the wrong key
Or maybe:
So poorly I've hidden knives
You will find them, you will find them
So poorly I've hidden knives
You will find them, you'll find them
Or perhaps it is:
I saw you step upon that bridge
I saw you walk across that bridge
I saw you float above that bridge
No, it's certainly:
Now I know
This must be love
Now I know
Now I know
This, this must be love
Now I know
This must be love
This must be love
Davey was so stoked about discovering Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V that he pasted the band name twice in the title.

Jokes aside, "She Speaks The Language" is an alright song, along with "Still a Stranger" perhaps, but the album as a whole is as mediocre as it gets. I'll be the first to claim Crash Love was the beginning of the fall for AFI but it is still better than this.

Album slaps. Still.

I think the production holds this back more than anything. There are times where it sounds like Jade is playing a toy guitar. But the songs themselves are really strong. Daveys lyrics are more evocative than anything so when he repeats stuff it doesn’t bother me

A tad patchy at times but much better production than on Burials. Jade is getting progressively better at producing imo.

The Missing Man is the peak of his production skills. Or maybe Blaqk Audio in general

Get Hurt is actually really well made. it definitely already clicked for me in like 2019 I think but I'm really just now noticing how cool the chord progression in the chorus is

she speaks the language and feed from the floor are so much better than the rest of this its not even fair

feed is great and she speaks the language is def one of their coolest tracks . funnily enough, the only 2 i dont care about on here are white offerings and snow cats. and they're still fine. this album def holds up better than Bodies and i really like how it gives us a taste of everything.

oh and above a bridge, that track does not need to exist lmao

the singles generally are probably the weakest cuts here besides so beneath you for me yeah. maybe im being a little harsh on this but its just not greater than the sum of its parts for me. i def think part of it is jades prod though, j not a fan of it. i think it kinda homogenizes the record in a way that takes away from its variety, same with bodies

Snow Cats is the only song here I can go without ever hearing again (too catchy). I never got the dislike for Bridge but maybe it's cause I'm just a big Cure fan

bridge has nice atmosphere but the chorus just feels so bland
jade production definitely isn't it here and i fear he's going to keep doing it for the rest of their career. here's hoping he's aiming to level up

Aurelia randomly came on when I was up on a ski mountain this past weekend and I was shocked to realize how good it sounded. Might need to give blood another try.
