It's good though, idk why I feel the need to chime in with that but I just see all these rave reviews and I am just like "this should be right up my alley". Maybe I just need to give it another go! The first two Alcest LPs are two of my favorite albums.

This, Ulcerate, and Meshuggah are my top 3, but they're pretty much interchangeable tbh. All so good.



I think 21 or 22 of my top 25 are 4.5's though so just goes to show how amazing this year has been.

im thinking a 4.5 but i personally found the album to be pretty front-loaded. i'm typically indifferent to track length but none of the songs shorter than 7 minutes hit as hard imo. Untouched has a gorgeous chorus but not much else of it clicked. the last two tracks felt out of place.

that being said, the opening 3 + Oiseaux are all some of the best songs of the year
