Well I’d first rather discuss the inconsistencies present in the use of the word “overrated”, which puts other people than you as implicit for your lack of enjoyment - learn not to blame others for your shortcomings.

Well i was going to explain myself..
I wish it had a bit more variety. The the riffs stand out more to me on pierced and I guess it's just personal preference but I'm huge fan of his vocal style on the album. Riffs just don't feel memorable to me aside from liege which is a classic. Not a huge fan of the production. It's still a great album just doesn't feel like a 4.4.

The hard slamming underwater guitar tone stands alone as a unique and unrepeatable gem in death metal history. Everything else by Suffo sounds too pedestrian in comparison almost solely because they sound too “normal”. Mullen’s alien vocal performance is just pure guttural noise from the sci-fi garbage-scape of the cover.
Effigy of the Forgotten is the perfect death metal album.

I would say "normal" death metal is what I consider perfect either. That is a fair argument however I enjoy things like nespithe and mortal throne if I want otherworldly brutal death metal. I prefer pierced entirely due to the fact that tracks like thrones of blood build up to their most killer riffs and songs seem to get more intense as they progress. But the fact that effigy smashes your balls at the get go has merit.
