thats fair. not that i think skiba isnt capable of writing music that isnt written from the perspective of a 15 year old, but they do seem to be pandering to the crowd of people who love shit like enema instead of progressing as a band

That's exactly what they're doing. Much as I dislike him, at least Delonge's musical endeavours display a certain degree of maturity and progression.

yeah everything on the past two albums has been completely thrown out the window in favor of this shit, which especially sucks as an enormous fan of everything matt skiba has done up until this album

Mark Hoppus, ladies and gentlemen. I'm certain Travis and Matt are just going along with it by this point.

see this is like skibas best vocal album since like maybe good mourning but the only problem is you can never hear him since half the album he's relegated to just going "wooaah oh" the whole time

I never understood the hubbub about this album.

yea nobody likes it lol
i'm kinda warming up to it but its by far the worst thing each member in the band has ever made (granted I haven't heard every transplants album and they might give this a run for its money)
I think they have the potential to make a good album its more an issue of the direction feldman is pushing them in and his production. he straight up had them write lyrics on the spot which shows. mark should like write an album about tom because hes best at it, like on cynical and San Diego, and matt should be allowed to like 50/50 split the way tom and mark did on like enema and TYOP

I've admittedly spun disc 2 on the Deluxe Version more often than I have the first, but in any case I can't help but get a slight hint of annoyance each time listening to how much of a downgrade this is compared to their previous stuff. I guess it was fun to go back to their old sound, but the production, lazy woah-ohs and lyrics ruined it for me.
Although Mark did mention he wants to go back to the vibe of the self-titled for their next album:

lool what hububub (1000)
|

It wasn't any hubbub on here, when it came out it's all I could hear about and how it was "good". They they put out the deluxe edition with the 2nd disc, and then it started the same cycle over again. Either way it's always sucked and always will. I would rather listen to Angels And Airwaves and I hate that band.

Yeah that sounds great and all but..

Sure don't. Every time they've released an album, I've listened to it and tried to see what other people see in the band. It's just not for me, but that doesn't take away the respect I have for them. They're all talented musicians who craft songs very well, and it is nice to see the maturity of Tom over the years, but the band just isn't my cup of tea.
But then again, I'm one of those type of dudes who's still hoping for a new Boxcar Racer album.

Agreed hard. Self-titled slays.
Not that I didn't appreciate Neighborhoods before (jammed it a ton back in the day tbh), but California makes me appreciate it even more. I keep repeating After Midnight and Even If She Falls; best tracks on it.
I do miss Tom though. While I was initially irritated at all of Blink during their very public feud a few years ago, watching the Tom DeLonge documentary kind of made me realize where he was coming from. It's pretty well made and it was fun to see what goes on in his mind and his life:

I love neighborhoods bro. used to think it was super inconsistent in the back half but really this is home and love is dangerous are the only songs I'm not into. wish disaster and when i was young made it onto the album
