The piano piece at the end of Salt and Shadow (the album's closer) is the same guitar melody that is played throughout Hurricane (the album's opener.) Maybe I'm late to the party on this (just started listening to the album the other day) but I thought that was a really cool touch and made listening to the transition from end to beginning that much more enjoyable.

Feather, check it out. The piano piece starts in the last 45 seconds of Salt and Shadow. Sitting here and work listening to it and I'm like wait...this isn't Hurricane yet, what? With enough crossfade, the transition between the piano and the acoustic pickup at the start of Hurricane is seamless.

Green Baron, glad I could put you on to it! I'm sure others have noticed it well before me but like I said, I thought that it was really cool. Satellite, it's worth checking out. There are some songs that I could do without but there are others that take this album to another level and the production is top-tier.

Kind of a generic song that you would expect to be playing at the end of a feel good movie where the main character is achieving some great task. I feel like they should have cut out everything prior to 2:54 and then had the song build into something heavier. Oh well, Dustin sounds killer.

Saw these guys yesterday opening for Deftones and Rise against.

They played:

Hurricane

Silhouette

Call it in the Air

Of Dust and Nations

Black Honey

The Long Defeat

The Earth Will Shake

Basically, Hurricane, Of Dust and Nations, and The Earth Will Shake sounded good.

Most of the songs off this album sounded terrible live, Dustin wasn't able to pull off the grittier voice, and musically they were clearly a notch below the older material.

I never liked Artist or M/M so the songs off of that didn't do anything for me either.

I saw these guys a few times between 2005-2010 and they were much, much better live then.
